Glossary
Adult Broadcast
Television or satellite programming slots historically used for erotic variety, softcore features, or late-night adult segments.
What it means
Adult broadcast sits between cinema, magazine culture, and home video. It normalized certain kinds of sexual talk on living-room screens under time-of-day rules.
Origin
Satellite and late-night terrestrial experiments created parallel celebrity paths. Some performers moved between broadcast sensuality and AV careers.
Cultural context
Viewers remember scrambled channels and midnight frames as generational media folklore. Younger audiences meet the history through clips online.
Common misunderstandings
- Adult broadcast is not identical with AV studio production.
- Time-slot rules are cultural regulation, not a how-to for finding channels abroad.
- Broadcast standards differ from internet platform rules.
